Scandinavian fuel cell demonstration project "H2MOVES"
Transportation, July 14 2010 (The Hydrogen Journal)
- A fuel cell vehicle demonstration project has been launched in Oslo, Norway, called "H2MOVES".
It will bring 17 fuel cell vehicles from Daimler and FIAT to Oslo and establish a hydrogen refuelling station in the city built by H2 Logic.
The project aims to help commercialise hydrogen for transport in Scandinavia, and connect the region with technology developments in Germany.
The project budget is Eur 19.5m, provided by the companies involved, the European Union and Norway and Denmark governments.
Daimler will provide 10 Mercedes-Benz B-class F-Cell cars.
FIAT will provide two Alfa Romeo MiTo fuel cell vehicles.
H2Logic will provide five electric city cars with fuel cell range extension.
The vehicles will be in Oslo next year.
Some of the vehicles will go on a demonstration tour during the project, which will be coordinated by Hydrogen Sweden and in collaboration with the European Regions’ and Municipalities’ Partnership on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (HyRaMP).
A safety and certification study will be carried out by TÜV SÜD, (Germany) and SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden to identify the certification gaps in Scandinavia for vehicles and fuelling stations.
