ITM Power to develop home hydrogen car fuelling unit
Production, June  09  2010 (The Hydrogen Journal)

- UK hydrogen company ITM Power has announced plans to develop a prototype home hydrogen fuelling unit, running at either 350 bar or 750 bar.

It can be used to power people's hydrogen cars.

It is developing the prototype for the NextEnergy Centre, a US "business accelerator", with an $81,000 contract. NextEnergy has received the money to develop it from the US Congress.

The unit will be able to deliver up to 5kg of hydrogen per week, in one or two refuelling events.

A Steering Committee of NextEnergy, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, Daimler, AG, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai-Kia Motors and Volkswagen, the California South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), and the US Army Tank-Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) will oversee the project.
